      Verdict

      GRAND CANAL was sent off favourite here on his reappearance and duly won over course and distance. Collateral form gives him the beating of recent Southwell runner-up Bug Boy and Tom Clover’s charge can go in again. Tanqeeb placed over 1m2f at Leicester but has something to prove over this longer trip while recent hurdles winner Sufi’s recorded his only win on the Flat so far over 1m5f here. Running Cloud has yet to win on Turf in 17 attempts.
