In depth

Verdict

Blinkers appeared to energise SUD PACIFIQUE at Stratford last time and he won by 25 lengths. If the headgear has the same effect here, Donald McCain's novice should take all the beating as Callum Whillans' claim takes care of half of his double penalty. Churchfield Champ was engaged at Hereford yesterday but would be a danger if turned out again quickly while Battlecat is proving most consistent and is almost guaranteed to run his race. Reflect won over 1m4f on the Flat as a three-year-old but has rather lost his way this year and may be best watched on his hurdling debut while Tackswop is likely to find at least a couple of these too good.
