Peter Carberry, back after a ban, has good claims on KNIGHT IN PURPLE. The C&D winner had a superb spring with two fluent successes and a fine second to Eradicate in the Swinton Hurdle. Inevitably, he's risen in the weights to the tune of 21lb since scoring at Chepstow in April but loves good ground and will go close. The Jigsaw Man has a tough task off topweight back over hurdles and The Cayterers looks the threat to the selection. He's 2lb out of the handicap and on a career-high hurdles mark but has plenty of talent on a going day and a repeat of his Wincanton success earlier this year would see him go close. Tri Nations posted a fine effort on his first outing for the Keighley team last time and can't be ruled out despite a penalty, nor Maoi Chinn Tire, a good second to Praxiteles latest.
