Verdict
Marufo won with plenty in hand when successful at Southwell earlier this month but a 9lb rise for that success looks harsh and preference is for MR BIG, who gets the verdict ahead of another last time out winner Jackella. The last mentioned won despite his saddle slipping at the last at Stratford last time but has harshly been raised 8lbs since then and may be booked for a place at best. Caroline Keevil's Ballyvaden was well held by the selection at Chepstow last time and seems too high in the weights at present. Caroline Bailey's Killard Point has been running consistently well of late and should be thereabouts again but it is hard to get away from Mr Big. Charlie Mann's gelding showed improved form when running out an easy winner of a Chepstow handicap last week and a reproduction of that effort may well see him defy the 7lb penalty for that success.
