In depth

Verdict

BLACK JACK ROVER showed a fine turn of foot to score between the flags at Tinahely in October and changed hands soon after. He should have the speed to make a winning start under Rules for Donald McCain. Charlie Cook's third behind Jack Frost at Ludlow in May was a decent effort but he hasn't been seen since while Western Express has an even longer absence to overcome. Tropical Sunshine was third at Doncaster on his debut last month but still beaten more than 20 lengths and will need more if he's to get his head in front. The Late Shift is by Midnight Legend so should pay his way under NH Rules but he may need further.
