In depth

Verdict

Colebrooke paid the price for running away with a similar event at Fontwell in October when raised 26lb. Unsurprisingly, he failed to figure back at the same track last time and hurdling newcomer GOTTANY O'S makes more appeal. He won five times on the Flat for Mick Channon this year and his new trainer is sure to get the best out of him. Mentalist showed his first form over timber when runner-up at Wincanton last time and Royal Reverie gets the attention of Tony McCoy for his first attempt over obstacles. Jawahal Du Mathan is related to hurdle winners in France and is another to note on his first start for Arthur Whitehead.
