        Verdict

        With the champion on board, Callisto Moon can pay to support, and in a race in which the market should be a guide, Marju's Gold, Torba and Tina's Ridge are all to be noted. Callisto Moon was only a cheap purchase, but showed that he had some ability on the level when scoring at Warwick in April. However, he has looked better in defeat since going timber topping, and a reproduction of his unlucky second at Stratford in July should be good enough. He probably would have won that day had he not made a mistake at the last, and although beaten on merit last time, that was on softer ground. The McCain stable always does well round here, so Marju's Gold, a middle-distance maiden on the Flat, is worth noting in the market, while Torba only had four runs on the level and is with the right trainer. Tina's Ridge picked up a couple of minor races on the Flat, but may find the ground too fast here, and preference is for Callisto Moon.
