    Verdict

Mirant is likely to be at short odds for this novices' hurdle and is impossible to oppose with Bodfari Rose and Extremist looking the best bets for the forecast. The selection was lightly raced on the flat when with Ed Dunlop and, although yet to open his account over hurdles, Martin Pipe's colt has looked a sure-fire future winner ever since falling at the last when in command on his hurdling debut at Wincanton before Christmas. The son of Danzig Connection has lost little in defeat behind useful types East Tycoon and Far Pavillions in two subsequent outings and, with this looking to represent a big drop in class, he can open his account. Bodfari Rose has shown enough to suggest that she can win races but this looks to be a stiff assignment for her and a bigger threat to the selection, and a better bet for the forecast, may be Extremist, who was rated 84 at his best on the flat. The others make limited appeal.
