SHANAHAN has been a model of consistency this summer without getting his head in front but is the form pick to get back into the winners enclosure at the expense of Storm Prospect and Russian Invader. The selection is yet to win for inform trainer Tim Vaughan but has shown enough ability to win again at this level. He is only two pounds higher since finishing third to Burgess Hill at Perth last month and with a clear round of jumping he is sure to be in the shake up come the business end of the race. Storm Prospect has not won for over a year but has been knocking on the door of late and was not beaten far when second to Veiled Applause at Hexham last time out. He has been dropped four pounds since and has Tony McCoy booked to ride so he is guaranteed his supporters. Russian Invader has not won for a long time but has been running well of late. He was not beaten far after finishing second at Bangor last time out but he has lost that winning thread and is possibly best watched for the short term. Shanahan still looks potentially well treated and takes preference.
