Royal Tommy (IRE) Won this race last year from a stone lower in the weights. Progressive stayer and still quite lightly-raced. Should handle the conditions and his Chepstow win in December gives him a decent chance. Drops in class after failing to show in a better race at Warwick last time.
Step On Eyre (IRE) Reasonably handicapped, but not a proven stayer over this trip and has not shown anything in two starts this season.
Dom Samourai (FR) Formerly a useful chaser for Martin Pipe, but seems to have lost his love of the game these days.
Nordic Prince (IRE) Has kept improving over fences, and his last run was in a very hot race in Ireland, so should find this more to his liking. Definitely one for the shortlist if he sees out the trip.
Damp Course (IRE) Seems a dour stayer but not in the best of form and, anyway, may not be good enough. Well beaten when unshipping jockey last time.
Mr Mahdlo Front runner who showed his first real form for some time when second to Seven Towers at Newcastle recently. Not always reliable, but Maguire on again so is an interesting dark horse.
Fortius (IRE) Won a poor race at Fontwell in December;loves the mud but has twice run badly since then; needs to dominate and may not be good enough here.
Bally Lira Out and out stayer who never does things too quickly; place chances but hard to see him winning
Brostaig Ort (IRE) Former Irish point-to-point winner; has progressed really well in last year; in need of run at Folkstone last month; should now be spot on and comes here with a major chance; goes well for his conditional jockey.
Over Zealous (IRE) Fairly treated on best form but has been well beaten in last two starts; proving costly to follow and best watched here.
Cherry Dee Tough sort; has won over 4m so trip and ground no problem; encouraging effort at Wetherby recently and must have a chance here.
Snapper Made all to win in first time blinkers at Ayr recently; this however is much harder and does not look good enough.
Oneanthreequarters (IRE) Reasonable efforts in last three starts but not certain to stay this trip and probably not good enough anyway.
Deliceo (IRE) Much better performance than his finishing position suggests at Leicester last time out; fair sort but could struggle from out of the weights here.
Head Gardener (IRE) Prone to jumping mistakes and faces a very tough task at the weights.
Kentucky Gold (IRE) No real prospects but probably will get round.
Ross Minster (IRE) Seems to enjoy bottomless ground and won well at Chepstow recently. Lets himself down with the odd jumping error, but otherwise he must have fair claims.
Andy's Birthday (IRE) Front runner; has only ever won at Uttoxeter; handles mud but inconsistent and others appeal more.
Brumalis (NZ) No form to suggest he can play a part in the finish here
