The feature race on the card at the Welsh track has attracted a small field, in which quite a few will line up with a fair chance, not least of which is Max Pride. Robin Dickin's charge was in good form during the first half of the season and showed that he has bags of stamina when scoring over this trip at Warwick in December. Still unexposed in this department, he should make a bold bid to defy a seven pound rise in the weights, having been rested over Christmas. Martin Pipe saddles Kaki Crazy who was highly tried in his first season after coming over from France, taking on the likes of Foxchapel King at Cheltenham. A faller at the third in the 2001 Martell Grand National, he does not seem to have progressed and will do well to shrug off topweight on his first outing in 11 months. Nordic Prince is a course winner, while Buccaneer Boy is having only his second run since leaving Paul Nicholls and it remains to be seen whether he has regained his enthusiasm. All in all, this looks best left to Max Pride.
