Mark Tompkins doesn't run many over hurdles and there are possibilities about My Guardian Angel, who won over 1m2f on the Flat at Doncaster in June. RIGHT TO RULE is much less exposed, however, and his Newcastle maiden success worked out really well as did earlier runs over 1m4f at Haydock and Salisbury. He could be a smart recruit to hurdling and can make a winning start under Jason Maguire. Kealshore Again's second at Sedgefield looks the best form on offer of those with experience over timber though Flat winners Alborz, Cool Hand Luke and Rapid Heat Lad are all expected to improve for their debuts.
