Verdict

A competitive regional National, with this Mayo version attracting a good turnout. Ilikedwayurthinkin reverts to fences after posting an excellent runner-up effort in a hot Aintree handicap hurdle at the Grand National meeting and demands a place on any shortlist. His yard has been unusually quiet of late but he still makes appeal. Max Flamingo concedes weight all round but his class should see him competitive over a trip that looks ideal. He is tempting but the feeling persists that one day CHAMPAGNE PLATINUM could well land a major pot such as this and he gets the nod. He was going nicely when falling four out at Punchestown latest and the drop back in trip is not an issue. Rock Road is out of the weights but is a fascinating Willie Mullins contender and Fully Charged is another to take the eye.
