Mr Globalist wasn't beaten far at Tipperary in June and was badly hampered by a faller when behind Figaruso at Killarney subsequently. Both appear to have the beating of Petrila, You Do You Boo and Darisana on that run. Surac has been running quite well in middle-distance handicaps on the Flat and could figure if taking to hurdles. Gordon Elliott’s newcomer Calico is also worth a market check being a half-brother to a hurdles winner but CHARLIE LUCIANO has run well over 1m7f at Leopardstown since unseating his conditional rider on his hurdling bow and could go close today with a better round of jumping.
Charlie Luciano (IRE) 20-1 (8-9) Prominent, 4th over 5f out, progress over 3f out, improved to lead narrowly 1f out, ridden and strongly pressed final 150 yards, soon headed, no chance with winner, 2nd of 11, 2 1/2l behind Gibraltar (9-13) at Leopardstown 1m 7f hcp gd in Jul.
Figaruso (IRE) 33-1 (10-12) Tracked leader, 2nd halfway, improved to challenge 3 out and left disputing, soon close up in 2nd, slight mistake 2 out and ridden, close up and every chance when pecked on landing last, kept on run-in without matching winner, 2nd of 11, 1 1/2l behind The Insider (10-12) at Killarney 2m 1f mdn gd in Jul.
Mr Globalist (IRE) 7-2 (10-12) Tracked leaders, 5th halfway, closer in 4th after 4 out, soon pushed along, ridden and close behind leaders when badly hampered 3 out, no extra in 3rd when slight mistake 2 out, kept on one pace, 3rd of 11, 19 1/2l behind The Insider (10-12) at Killarney 2m 1f mdn gd in Jul.
