        Verdict

        Scales ran well for a long way on his debut at Southwell and will have come on for the run while Zaru has shown some ability and this won't take much winning. Gris Lord, a winner between the flags at Loughanmore in October, made a fair start under Rules in a Down Royal bumper and will be tough to beat but ANYCHANCEDAVE gets the nod. Alan Swinbank's charge was sent off favourite for a Southwell bumper on his racecourse debut last month and, though not particularly distinguishing himself, gave notice that there was more to come.
