A very ordinary race where a chance is taken with proven stayer Star Trooper, who can represent good value against the likes of Flaming Heck, who did win last time out but is not the most consistent to be taking a short price about in this follow up bid. Glenfarcles Boy has never won beyond two and a half miles, but should have few problems with this extra furlong and a half if he puts his mind to it today. However, like most of the rest that cannot be guaranteed, so he may have to concede second best if this comes down to a test of resilience. Tarbolton Moss has shown very little signs of interest in her last two starts and, from top weight, is not that hard to overlook this afternoon. Which we do in favour of Star Trooper, who has indicated that a step up in distance is exactly what is required if he is to finally end his winless drought. Flaming Heck is the best alternative, but was well beaten behind the selection the last time they met at this course.
