In depth

Verdict

Mooltazem completed a double when landing a Class 3 handicap over the course and distance last summer and is on a 2lb lower mark but refused to race last time so is best watched for now. Addis Ababa was only beaten a neck over this trip at Newcastle then failed to stay 1m4f at York. He has an obvious chance in a moderate handicap. MULLIGATAWNY doesn't win often but would have a chance second to none on his victory in a better race than this at Ripon last summer. He's 4lb higher but gets the vote as course specialist Gworn hasn't run since October and usually needs his reappearance run. Royal Regent is very closely matched with the latter and all of his four victories have come here so he could provide the main threat.
