A modest race sees Rouge Et Noir selected ahead of Lennel and Dayoff. Recent hurdles winner Rouge Et Noir also put in a fair run off a one-pound lower mark than today on the Flat two runs ago and, with the advantage of coming into this in good heart, can go well. Lennel is well-weighted based on his form of two years ago and, although nowhere near as good as that now, he ran well over course and distance two runs ago and a repeat of that should see him involved. Dayoff's third at Chepstow over a shorter trip looked an improved effort last time so she is respected at this level. Of the others, much as Caymans Gift has yet to win, he has been running pretty well of late and holds place claims. Overall, though, the vote goes to Rouge Et Noir.
