        Verdict

        The only winner in the field, NEW ABBEY ANGEL has obvious claims in a poor handicap. He scored over today’s trip at Lingfield in February and none of today’s opposition inspire much confidence. Sattelac finished a well-beaten third at Musselburgh in August and steps up in distance while though Athlon made a promising start on the all-weather he disappointed in a couple of subsequent outings. The remainder are even harder to fancy on what little they have shown over shorter trips so far.
