Bumper winner Golden Measure could be of interest on his hurdling debut but has not progressed as much as may have been anticipated on the level and a better bet may be Planters Punch, who is preferred to Rare Coincidence. The last mentioned has taken well to hurdling but this looks tougher than the races that he has won at Market Rasen and Uttoxeter. Hawkwell is an interesting newcomer from the yard of Nicky Richards but he is likely to find at least one of these too quick for him, while Irish raider Up Above has been highly tried and is difficult to evaluate. Baffling Secret refused to race on his reappearance and may be best watched, while Double Vodka showed only a modicum of ability on his hurdling debut last month. Dual bumper winner Malt de Vergy should strip fitter for his return at Cheltenham last month but lack of hurdling experience is of concern and a safer bet looks to be recent Carlisle winner Planters Punch, who was just about the pick of these on the level and looks to be of a similar level of ability over hurdles.
