In depth

Verdict

There was cut in the ground when CANDY HILL went close at Hamilton last week but the others with claims have yet to encounter slow going. That includes Carlisle runner-up Ingleby Valley and Run Rio Run, second at Newcastle last time. Dark Confidant may do better dropping back in distance for this and Dark Command, a half-brother to a two-year-old winner, is preferred to fellow newcomer and the selection's stablemate Aussie Express.
