TRANSACT represents a yard who know the time of day in these events and the gelding is nominated ahead of newcomers It's Brown and Fairlea Bob. Alan Swinbank's horses have been in good form in the past fortnight or so and the selection is expected to step up on what we have seen so far. His fifth place on debut at Doncaster on good ground wasn't a bad starting point and although he was keen early on, he still shaped with promise. He ran as if more of a test in this softer ground would suit and he is nominated accordingly. Samaret, as a four-year-old filly, gets plenty of weight from her rivals but she will need to improve a lot on her Catterick debut. Of more interest then may be Turtle Spirit who represents the in-form Sally Forster. He is likely to need some more time and distance but could snatch a place today. There are a good selection of newcomers, of which It's Brown and Fairlea Bob make most appeal. The former is a son of Kayf Tara out of a bumper-winning mare in Mid Day Chaser, whilst the latter is by Bob's Return out of a less-successful Irish point-to-pointer in Condonstown. The other newcomers need market checks, however in a tricky finally we will side with Transact.
