A large field goes to post for this maiden but on closer inspection not many can be given a serious chance of winning, but the principals look to be Artistic Style, Essex and Shouette, and the vote goes to the latter. The colt from the Barry Hills yard has shown enough in two runs to date to suggest that he can win a race of this nature and a reproduction of his latest third behind Sahem would make him hard to beat. Essex rates the main danger on his best form but he looked a bit one-paced last time so is readily opposed. Artistic Style was a good second behind Al Rajiba last time out and the step up in trip is sure to suit. Of the remainder Allied Victory has also shown plenty of ability but he has yet to race on anything other than fast ground so for that reason he is opposed and we are happy to side with Shouette.
