        Verdict

        UNCLE ALASTAIR looked suited to a thorough test of stamina when getting up close home at Wetherby and today's softer ground can enable him to follow up. Dunly was beaten a long way when runner-up at Newcastle but will have benefited from the run and gets plenty of weight from the selection. Witness Time looked in need of the run here in December and is another who should make progress but the newcomer Tosie could prove more of a threat as her dam has produced two winning bumpers with her first foals to run.
