Verdict

Carrickboy had only been showing moderate form before gaining his first chasing success at Catterick where he jumped much better. He should progress from that but has to concede 7lb to DANCING DIK which looks beyond him. Chris Grant's charge won three times over hurdles and made a very promising comeback after a long break in what looked a strong novice chase at Kelso in December. He looks the type to go on to better things and gets the vote. Bishops Heir found 2m too short at Catterick and is better judged on an earlier run at Haydock over this trip on very testing ground. King O'The Gypsies hasn't done much over fences to date though he's been racing over trips too short and isn't out of this.
