Verdict

Three of these ran in the valuable novices’ handicap on this card 12 months ago. Crosshue Boy won and has probably been trained with this race in mind as he’s been lightly campaigned and ran in a hurdle last time to protect his handicap mark. But DINGO DOLLAR was only beaten a length and is slightly better off at the weights. Alan King’s seven-year-old holds recent Cheltenham winner Beware The Bear on their run together in the Ladbrokes Trophy at Newbury in December and ran a nice trial for this when second to Chidswell in the Grimthorpe at Doncaster. Big River is closely matched with Beware The Bear and Vintage Clouds on Cheltenham running but the latter hasn’t had much time to recover from a crashing fall at the first at Aintree last week. As well as Chidswell, Nicky Richards also runs another recent winner in Takingrisks while the novice Blue Flight looks the pick of the Twiston-Davies trio. Geronimo goes well here but is one of nine racing from out of the handicap including Mysteree, second to Crosspark in the Eider. This looks a big ask for the inexperienced Cloth Cap returning from a lay-off.
