In depth

Verdict

Hatton Springs beat Landmeafortune by only a head over 2m here in January but has been beaten on a couple of occasions since. Transient Bay got the better of Naburn at Wetherby earlier but the latter may well reverse running on better terms here. JUMBO JOHN was off the track for over two years after landing a maiden hurdle at Perth. But he looks to have retained his ability on the evidence of a recent third at Punchestown and can repay Lorna Fowler's patience by taking this prize back across the Irish Sea. Bescot Springs had been threatening to get his head back in front before a poor effort at Musselburgh last time and could also go well.
