In this stamina test, Harlov is selected ahead of Devil's Run, Brandy Wine and Moon Mist. Harlov stays well and is only three pounds above his latest winning mark and looked to be returning to form last time and today's softer going will suit better than in that contest. Brandy Wine is lightly-raced and promising but still has it to prove off his current rating, although his second to Ebony Light three runs ago looks even better now given that horse's subsequent success. Devil's Run would certainly hold a chance based on his form of last spring and, indeed, his 2003 form, but Mickey Croke arguably lacks chasing experience. Almire du Lia is edging back towards a more reasonable mark, while Ta Ta For Now is actually below a winning mark now, but that came on good to firm and he has not performed well in six subsequent runs. Moon Mist is back to the mark from which he won here in February of last year so holds a chance on that basis, but Best China and Trovaio have it to prove on these terms. All of which returns us to the selection, which is Harlov.
