In depth

Verdict

Better was expected from Dirchill at Haydock last time but he could only manage a disappointing fifth. Jessie Allan included a course and distance win in her earlier double and is preferred to stablemate Star Cracker while Lee Smyth sends both Duncan Of Scotland and Columbia Kid over from Ireland with the former looking to have the best chance. FAITHFUL PROMISE has been racing over further without success so far this year but scored over today’s trip at Catterick off a 7lb higher mark last year. Mark Johnston’s filly gets the nod to bounce back in this.
