      Verdict

SHOOTING TIMES won this a year ago from just 4lb lower and bounced back over a slightly longer trip here in January under today's claiming rider. He looks capable of adding to his tally in a poor handicap with most of his rivals badly out of form. The ex-Irish Old Magic has always been inconsistent and is still looking too high in the weights while Porridge looks as though he's making his handicap debut from a high enough mark. Rawaaj could prove the main threat as he was in good form around this time a year ago and is now just 1lb higher after a string of moderate efforts. Leith Walk ran poorly when favourite at Musselburgh on New Year's Day and hasn't been seen since and one victory from 18 starts over hurdles doesn't inspire confidence.
