Verdict

Brother McGonagall bids for a hat-trick raised 4lb for his recent success at Beverley. He’ll go close again but KHARBETATION finally took advantage of a tumble down the weights to win at Ripon last time and David O’Meara’s charge can go in again fresh from that success. Strong Steps failed to build on an earlier second at Hamilton when well beaten at Carlisle and War Department looks no nearer winning despite a slide down the handicap.
