slowly into stride and hampered start, soon in touch, kept on same pace final furlong
outpaced in rear, some late headway, never really on terms
raced in centre of group, always prominent, challenged 2f out, led over 1f out, ran on well
in touch, pushed along halfway, soon lost place
raced near side of group, led until headed 2f out, weakened over 1f out
always prominent, 3rd and one pace inside final furlong
Spanish Time took a backward step on his latest start having ran better over the minimum trip at Beverley earlier. He’s preferred of those with experience but looks vulnerable to a newcomer with the filly Magic Twist preferred to Karl Burke’s duo Macho Time and Light The Fuse though it's DICK DATCHERY that makes most appeal. The latter is a half-brother to the smart sprinters Ekhtiyaar and New Providence and David O’Meara’s colt may well be quick enough to make a winning debut.
