    Verdict

ALGAR LAD is progressing nicely and followed an easy victory at Leicester with a decent effort from an 11lb higher mark in a better race than this at Newcastle. He looks capable of better and can concede weight all round. Rothesay Chancer had Gowanharry a nose behind on soft ground at Musselburgh a month ago and has since scored on fast going at Carlisle. But the runner-up is 6lb better off and should have few problems reversing the form, especially as he didn't get the run of the race. Megaleka had Rothesay Chancer three lengths behind when scoring over the track and trip in April with Perfect Blossom behind and should confirm the form on the revised terms so Alan Bailey's charge looks a big threat.
