Verdict

THE CON MAN stayed on late last time at Ascot having got outpaced off the home turn. That was a much more competitive affair and he’d looked one to follow at Kelso previously so can recoup losses. Better Getalong hasn’t won in more than two years but runs his best races around here and was third last time when possibly still in need of the run. Whoshotthesheriff has been highly tried lately and the return to a longer trip is probably in his favour so he looks a threat to all but once-useful staying chaser The Dutchman is best watched returning from a lengthy absence for a new stable. Eternally Yours was never travelling when favourite here in January but is capable of better and makes more appeal than Sam's Gunner, who has never reproduced the form he showed when winning a Grade 3 in 2018.
