Iron Man lost no caste in defeat behind Ginger McCain's Calomeria on his British debut at Wetherby last week and is taken to go one better at the main expense of newcomers Cambo and Manhattan Jack. The last mentioned is unexposed on the flat but has shown ability and it will be interesting to see what he achieves over hurdles. Alan Parker introduces the French-bred Okayman but he is likely to need the run on his debut and of more interest among the debutantes is Cambo. Also bred in France, Richard Ford's gelding has shown enough over middle distances on the flat to suggest that he could be of interest and the booking of Tony Dobbin takes the eye. Roger Fisher's Rare Coincidence has more experience than any of the others previously mentioned and would have place claims if taking to hurdles. Named At Dinner ran with credit on his hurdling debut and is another to consider but the vote goes to Iron Man. Howard Johnson's gelding was highly tried in two starts over hurdles in his native country and was started off at a much more realistic level on his British debut at Wetherby. The son of Video Rock had some good horses behind him that day, the first two having pulled clear and it will be a surprise if he cannot go one better here.
