This can go to the improving three-year-old NOBLE ANTHEM (NAP), who is having only a fourth career start. Any rain would help easy Haydock winner Arch Moon but Carrigillihy hasn’t really kicked on from a win at Pontefract in the spring. Unplugged was returning from a very long absence when beating a subsequent winner at the same course, however, while Glasses Up loves it here and was second over 1m5f on the track last month.
Arch Moon 7-2 (9-11) Towards rear, shaken up and smooth headway on outside over 3f out, edged left and led over 2f out, ridden and went clear well over 1f out, stayed on well, eased towards finish, comfortably, won at Haydock 1m 2f hcp (5) gs in Jun beating Natchez Trace (9-8) by 6l, 8 ran.
Glasses Up (USA) 28-1 (8-5) Tracked leaders, ridden and led 2f out, kept on, headed closing stages, no chance with winner, 2nd of 13, 1 1/4l behind Dark Jedi (9-7) at Ayr 1m 5f hcp (2) gd in Jun.
Noble Anthem (IRE) 13-2 (9-9) Keen tracked leader, pushed along and every chance over 2f out, ridden and kept on one pace, 4th of 14, 4 1/4l behind Eldar Eldarov (9-9) at Newcastle 1m 2f stks (5) pol in May.
Carrigillihy 14-1 (8-13) Front mid-division, ridden 3f out, no progress, 8th of 14, 4 3/4l behind Commonsensical (9-11) at Carlisle 1m 3f hcp (4) gf in Jun.
