Verdict

Nowurhurlin finished a well-beaten third last time after landing a novice hurdle at Carlisle in November. FUNKY MUNKY also disappointed on his latest start at Sedgefield, although the 2m4f trip appeared to be a legitimate excuse as he'd won over a shorter distance at the same track before that. Alistair Whillans' charge gets the vote as he's also a winner in heavy ground on the Flat. Carters Rest finished a long way behind the selection at Sedgefield but has run much better since when second at Newcastle to King's Chorister and those two are closely matched here, while Sheriff Hall could get involved back over the smaller obstacles.
