Verdict

Colloquial has won twice over C&D, but he's never scored off a mark as high as today's and he's a 10-year-old now. Recent York winner Bow To No One has done all his winning in lower grades and Cunning Act has a 9lb rise to contend with after his latest soft ground victory at Goodwood. With doubts surrounding the likely market leaders, it's worth chancing one at a bigger price so RED KESTREL gets a tentative vote. Kevin Ryan's charge has claims on his third in better company in soft ground over C&D in July and may find the necessary improvement on today's faster surface. Spice Fair looks best of the rest.
