Verdict

Sternrubin, John Constable and Ch'tibello finished 1-2-3 in the Gerry Fielden at Newbury a little under a year ago. John Constable comes out best of that trio at the weights on that form but Ch'tibello reversed the form in the Swinton Hurdle at Haydock in May and his probably the more progressive. He should play a part here, despite top weight, while Cloonacool would have gone very close at Market Rasen last month had he not fallen two out. Irish raider Colla Pier could run well off a low weight while Diego Du Charmil did well to beat a race-fit rival at Chepstow three weeks ago, though stablemate MODUS is also interesting. The latter looked a nice prospect at this time last year but could be an autumn horse. He bombed in the betfair Hurdle in February and again at Cheltenham in March but goes well fresh and Harry Cobden's claim is a plus.
