Verdict

Van Nistelrooy met with defeat for the first time, whe beaten three quarters of a length by Refuse To Bend in a Group 1 at the Curragh. Just behind him that day was Dublin, who had previously rattled off a three-timer in this country. His stable has been going through a quiet spell of late, but they do seem in a bit better form now and he is taken to gain compensation in this, his first race away from the Curragh. The best of the home team could be Norse Dancer, who on a line through Dublin, has a bit to find with the O'Brien runner, while he in turn should confirm Goodwood running with Newfoundland. Magistretti is open to improvement at this trip, as he is from the same family as the high-class 10-furlong performer Damister. Bahamian Dancer has more to do than when winning a maiden at Epsom, but Al Jadeed looks one to keep on the right side after his defeat of four previous winners at Sandown. Neither Puma or Unigold look good enough.
