WIND FIRE looks the one to beat in this. David Brown's filly finished an admirable third to No Nay Never when up against colts in the Norfolk Stakes at Ascot and today's extra furlong should suit. A couple of recent winners were placed at Newmarket's July meeting on their previous outing so Queen Catrine comes into the reckoning having beaten Fig Roll and Princess Noor when third at Headquarters earlier this month. The Irish filly Chroussa may be good enough to get involved having suffered narrow-margin defeats in both starts to date while maiden winners Along Again, Mahlah and Wee Jean are likely to improve further but will need to if they're to trouble the selection.
