    Verdict

Epaulement would have been the likely pace angle in this but is now a non-runner. A winner here in May and also last month at Windsor, Sextant may well start favourite as he’s only been raised a pound and bounces off this fast surface. Anythingtoday arrives on a hat-trick so won’t go down without a fight while the three-year-old Almost Midnight makes his handicap debut having contested last month’s Queen’s Vase. Desperately unlucky over 1m2f at Sandown three weeks ago, HYANNA might be the value here with Georgia Dobie’s 7lb claim in her favour as she’s won three times over this longer trip, all on good to firm. Gossip Column makes more appeal than Protected Guest of the others.
