Many hold chances here. But Funfair has always been held in high regard for races of this nature and, as a lightly raced individual that has not endured a hard season, he is selected in preference to Etterick Water, Free Trip and Greenslades, who are all capable of going close. So too is Royal Storm if he puts in anything like his best. However, he can be unreliable and appears to be the stable's second string today. Mick Channon has three tough customers in the race in the shape of Nahaay, Master Robbie and Millennium Force, with the last named coming out on top from that trio. He is a much traveled individual that has a versatile profile to his racing. He does not have the best strike-rate for a horse of his ability though, and he may again have to settle for a place today. Material Witness has already had a great season and loves this big-field charges. However, he has been running as if his exertions have taken their toll lately and others make more appeal. Kehaar ran a shocker when well backed at Goodwood last time and is on a retrieval mission today. He had previously been most progressive and obviously holds plenty of ability when he is on song. However, he has never come up against an experienced field such as this and a few may be too wily for him near the finish. Etterick Water is another that comes into the race having enjoyed a fruitful campaign. He has steadily crept up the ratings though and needs to put in a career best effort today. Especially when the challenge presented by Funfair is taken into account. Kieren Fallon resumes his working relationship with the son of Singspiel, and the partnership look to marginally hold the upper hand in a race that should go right down to the wire.
