In this fillies' race, Makderah gets the vote ahead of Three Wrens, Wake Up Maggie and Clinet. Third in a Group 3 race at Goodwood early last month, Makderah has to be high on the list of possible winners of this Listed race, particularly given that her conqueror that day, Red Evie, has since won a good Group race in Ireland. Clinet proved last season that she comes good at this time of year and there is a lot to be said for that with fillies, while Imperial Ice is a little hard to assess but did land a Listed race in Dubai in March. Three Wrens produced a career-best performance to win at Listed level last time and, having finished ahead of Cantabria there, has to come firmly into the reckoning here. Highway To Glory also put up a career-best run when third in a Listed race at York last time and, when fillies start improving, they cannot be ignored but, based on that run, Wake Up Maggie also comes firmly into things as she finished ahead of her in that contest. It all adds up to an intriguing race, one in which Makderah gets the vote.
