Verdict

Public Forum can keep his unbeaten record intact by beating the likes of Star Of Light, Blue Monday, Wild Savannah and Blue Spinnaker in an open affair. All those mentioned have already paid to follow this term, and the one with perhaps even more improvement in him is Public Forum, who at the age of four, has had just three career outings. That record suggests that the son of Rainbow Quest has not been easy to train, so it is to Sir Michael Stoute's credit that he has placed him to win each time. Narrowly successful from some race-fit rivals on his Sandown reappearance, he will be suited by the step back up in trip, and a 4lb rise does not look harsh, considering that he is considered Group-class judged on an entry in the Irish St Leger. Star Of Light showed that he had lost none of his zest when scoring at Newmarket on his return, and then overcoming bad luck in running to finish third at Epsom. He will be a danger along with last year's Cambridgeshire hero Blue Monday, who carries a 3lb penalty for a recent Group 3 success in France. If the going was softer, he would have a major chance, but might just be tapped for toe here, giving weight away all round. Wild Savannah bounced straight back from a break with a battling victory at Newmarket and cannot be ruled out, while Blue Spinnaker stuck his neck out gamely when accounting for Look Again at York and therefore has place claims at least on that showing. For the winner we return to Public Forum.
