Verdict

Amoola Gold seeks a third victory here but First Flow gave him weight and a beating over course and distance last season and sprang a surprise in this 12 months ago. He came right back to form in the Grade 2 Peterborough Chase at Huntingdon last November and is no forlorn hope. However, most pundits expect this to develop into a battle between Willie Mullins’ raider Energumene and SHISHKIN. Both are unbeaten over fences and have won twice at the highest level over the larger obstacles but the latter may just have the stronger overall form and the ease with which he shrugged aside the Tingle Creek winner Greaneteen at Kempton on his reappearance was most impressive.
