Verdict

Carries Leap, who got the better of Frontier Spirit at Faxenham in October, lost his unbeaten record at Plumpton earlier this month but was far from disgraced and looks a nice chasing prospect. But he may struggle to give 10lb here to MASTER FIDDLE, who would surely have made a winning debut over timber at Ffos Las had he not tried to kick the third-last and second-last hurdles out of the ground. The Alflora gelding will surely have learned his lesson from that and a clear round can see him get off the mark here at the chief expense of Poungach, who shaped with promise when third to Frascati Park over this C&D in November. Captain Kirkton was an easy winner at Lingfield earlier in the month and is preferred to Folkestone scorer No Secrets, while Exeter fourth Fontano is another with plenty of scope in what should be an informative finale.
