Verdict

Australian superstar Black Caviar won this when a 1/6 chance in 2012 and fellow Aussie raider BRAZEN BEAU is hoping to justify favouritism this year. Still technically a three-year-old, Chris Waller's colt has only finished out of the first two once in his last eight starts in his home country, despite competing at the highest level, and could easily wipe the floor with these if he's as good as we've been told. Mustajeeb dropped back to 6f to land a Group 2 at the Curragh last month, when Astaire was only fifth, and could be the one to take advantage if the Antipodean challenger falls short. Due Diligence had a number of these behind last year - including Music Master, Astaire, Gordon Lord Byron and Tropics - when only finding Slade Power too good and will be a threat to all if back to that sort of form while it's interesting to see Pearl Secret make a quick reappearance after an excellent fourth in the King's Stand Stakes on Tuesday. Several sprinters have run well in both races at the Royal meeting with Choisir doing the double in 2003, though David Barron's six-year-old has never won over this extra furlong. York winner Glass Office have more to do here.
