Although he is on an upward curve, Shagraan was all out to land a Handicap at Newbury last time and the combination of a 6lb penalty and the extra furlong may just find him out here. Systematic is now 17lb higher than when he won his first handicap and although he did well to get up for second at Epsom last time, he may well struggle to assert his presence on a track where front-runners are proving hard to win with at this meeting. There may be some value to be had in the shape of the improving Barathea Blazer, who is set to benefit from the assistance of Mick Kinane. The son of Barathea was a smooth winner at Newbury last time and his confidence should have been boosted no end after winning the third of his five outings so far. Don Fernando, Fashionable Man and the lightly-weighted Approaching Storm are others for the list.
