Trueshan missed the Gold Cup for this in the hope the rain arrives which would certainly put him in the driving seat after last season's brilliant efforts backed up by an easy comeback win at Nottingham. Last year's winner Stratum looks to have more to do this time and WORDSWORTH, placed behind Hurricane Lane in last year's Irish Derby and Grand Prix de Paris, looks the logical option if Trueshan doesn't take part. Last year's Chester Cup winner Falcon Eight is certain to be suited by the marathon trip as is Calling The Wind, runner-up a year ago and a winner over 2m4f at Goodwood.
Stratum 33-1 (9-7) Chased leaders, moderate 5th halfway, pushed along approaching straight and lost place over 2f out, soon no extra, last of 12, 23 1/2l behind Raise You (9-7) at Curragh 1m 4f lst stks (1) Good - Yielding in May.
